Thule Aero Short-Roof Adapter

The Thule Aero Short-Roof Adapter is for 2 door or 3 door (2 door with hatchback) compact cars.  These vehicles have dramatically curved rooftops and short mounting areas (they don't have rear doors to mount the second set of feet). Some Trucks and Minivans also require the short roof adapter kit for the same reasons.

The adapter is necessary to increase the cross bar spacing to at least 28 inches and to provide a sure mounting method for these challenging roof tops. The adapter kit consists of 2 short bars that run front to back on the vehicle and a set of 2 feet that will clamp onto the front door opening along with 2 of the original feet. The other 2 original feet attach to the back end of the short adapter bars and rest on the roof without their clamps installed.

It's important that the crossbar spread be at least 28 inches, because any less does not allow you to safely mount a bike, surfboard or many other roof racks.
