The PackRight Cargo Saddlebag from Rightline Gear is a rugged car back carrier that suspends from your vehicle's luggage rack.

• Requires a luggage rack (either side rails or cross bars) and a distance of 40" between rear tail lights.

It can attach to a cross bar or your roof rack's side rails. The Car Back Luggage Carrier has a plastic insert that fits in the bottom of the bag to provide strength and structure. It allows for easy loading and access to your gear, hanging low on the back of your vehicle. The Cargo Saddlebag produces no aerodynamic drag so your gas mileage stays where it ought to be. In comparison, car top cargo bags or boxes will lower your gas mileage 5 mpg on average.

The Cargo Saddlebag is made of Hydrotuff material,  a UV resistant, waterproof PVC backed 600D polyester, just like PackRight's car top carriers. Each Saddlebag includes two bottom straps which attach to your bumper, hitch, or something down below. Also included is a long support strap that can tighten around the bag and back door like a belt (used if you cannot attach the lower straps to your vehicle). The maximum load for the bag is about 100 lbs or the weight limit of your luggage rack.

Instructions for use are sewn inside the bag for easy accessibility. The Cargo Saddlebag has a handle on each side of the bag so that it can be easily lifted off of the vehicle and taken right into hotel rooms etc. The bag's zipper protection flap keeps water out, however, if you would like to be 110% sure, we offer the PackRight waterproof liner as an option.

If you have a luggage rack (either side rails or cross bars) and you have a distance of 40" between your rear tail lights, you can use the Saddlebag. Perfect for SUVs, minivans, and crossovers.

We had to drive from Ohio to Florida with 5 adults (2 over 6 ft tall)and a ninety pd Newfoundland puppy that took up half the car and my wife was worried how we were going to pack everything luggage,fishing equipment, beach gear, chairs, shade canopy, food & cooler,etc. I told her I had a saddlebag and not to worry. She could not believe how much luggage we packed in this 14 cubic foot compartment strapped to the back hatch loading all our suit cases and still giving us an aerodynamic ride for our gas budget. Sweet. Wildest thing I have ever seen. We are teachers and we had students pass up on the highway and asked us if it was us on the highway with the fishing pole tube on top and all the luggage on the back. They said as they passed us their parents said, "Now those people know how to PACK RIGHT"! As my son was driving I was saddened to look down from our car and looking at a small crossover (suv or van) filled with adults and a young teenager sitting in the passenger seat holding the cooler in her lap with no room in the car traveling Springbreak. All they needed was a saddlebag because the vehicle did have a hatch and cartop carriers. Great product!!! We Love it!!! We look forward to many more trips with the Saddlebag. rn
