Cargo Saddlebag Set Up Guide
Packing The Cargo Saddlebag
1. Clean the back of your vehicle, unscrew your license plate and place it inside the Cargo Saddlebag’s interior license plate sleeve (Fig 1and Fig 2).

2. Assemble the bottom pole frame in the pole guides on the underside of the carrier (Fig 3). Make sure the individual segments of the pole frame are firmly locked together by checking the pole buttons (Fig 4). Fold the Velcro closure over one end of each pole (Fig 5).

3. Load your gear into the Cargo Saddlebag either on the ground or while suspended from the back of the vehicle. The maximum load capacity of the Cargo Saddlebag is ~100 lbs. Make sure your roof rack is anchored to your vehicle and don’t exceed its weight limit.
4. Pack the carrier full, evenly distributing the load. Place items with sharp or pointed edges in the middle with softer items around them to protect the carrier material. Close the zipper and fold the protective flap down. When properly packed, the Cargo Saddlebag should appear as in (Fig 2).
Attach The Carrier - WITH A Roof Rack
1. Loop the (2) long side straps around the vehicle’s roof rack; either the rear cross bar (Fig 6) or the (2) side rails. Make sure the roof protection pads (Fig 7) are face down on the top rear corner of the vehicle.

2. Buckle the long side straps into the short side straps (Fig 8).
3. Adjust the overall length of the straps so that the bottom of the carrier is level with the top of the bumper (Fig 2).
4. Adjust each strap’s tri-glide so that no excess strap material will flap in the wind (Fig 9).

Attach The Carrier - WITHOUT A Roof Rack
1. Add the Rightline Gear Saddlebag Car Clips (Fig 10) (sold separately) to the long side straps (Fig 11). Please see the Saddlebag Car Clips instructions for more detail.

2. Place the Car Clips in the gap between the vehicle’s rear hatch door and roof (Fig 12). Make sure the protective pads are face down on the top rear corner of the vehicle (Fig 13).

3. Buckle the long side straps into the short side straps (Fig 14).
4. Adjust the overall length of the straps so that the bottom of the carrier is level with the top of the bumper (Fig 2).
5. Adjust the overall length of the straps so that the bottom of the carrier is level with the top of the bumper (Fig 2).

Attach The Bottom Straps
1. Run the (2) bottom straps through the guides on the bottom of the carrier and attach them to the tow hitch, bumper, or frame behind the bumper (Fig 16).

2. Adjust each strap’s buckle (Fig 17) and tri-glide (Fig 18) so that no excess strap material will flap in the wind.

Attach The Belt Strap
The belt strap is needed if your vehicle does not have an attachment point for the (2) bottom straps. The belt strap can also be used in conjunction with the bottom straps for added support.
1. Run the belt strap around the carrier and the vehicle’s rear hatch door, shutting the door over the (2) strap ends (Fig 19).
2. Buckle the ends of the strap together on the inside of the vehicle and pull the (2) tri-glides tight (Fig 20).

SAFETY NOTES:
- Emergency access to the rear door and/or window of your vehicle will be extremely limited when using the Cargo Saddlebag. No occupants in the vehicle should require entry/exit through the rear door while this product is attached.
- Make sure that you have a clear view through the rear window before driving.
- Keep the Cargo Saddlebag and its straps away from the vehicle’s hot exhaust system.
- The rear door, window, windshield wiper, and back up camera/alarm may not be operable while the Cargo Saddlebag is attached.
